All of us competitors just started where you are, sat there thinking, what a ridiculous idea, but in reality, it is not as far fetch as you might imagine. Come and have a go or just have a look:

Lounge Clothes Competitions

The most casual environment to experience dancing in a competition with normally one judge accessing you. Normally lounge clothes will be fine, and dance shoes optional, so you don't need to spend any extra money. Not too much dance experience needed as long as you know which way to go round the floor.

 

Medallist Competitions

After taking your medal test and pass, you are then eligible to compete in medallist competitions. Same as in the test, you will be dancing with your teacher unless you want to stick with your partner. The competition is divided into different grades, ages and genders. So all in all, more of a level playing field. The main competition is held in the fabulous Empress Ballroom, Winter Gardens, Blackpool, the mecca of ballroom dancing. This acts as a training ground and stepping stone for the following:

 

Open Competitions

The 'creme de la creme' of competitions. You will form a steady partnership and gradually work your way from Beginners to Novice to Intermediate to Pre-Championship to Championship level, the sky is the limit!
